FALL COLORS
Fall in Colorado has been beautiful. The photo above is our backyard at the end of October. September and October were warm and so pretty with the leaves changing colors. At the end of October we were able to go to Vail, CO for a few days and even spent a day in Aspen. In all the years we’ve lived in Colorado, we had never been to Aspen. And boy am I glad we did! Autumn in the mountains is spectacular.
Of course I had fun wandering around Vail Village and fell in love with the decor in one of the beautiful shops. Gorsuch has lots of European ski clothes but also some traditional European home goods.
How gorgeous is this tartan dresser! The shoes are cute too.
And this one with some cool blankets.
And this was the decor outside the shop. Of course I was drooling over the blankets here too.
Vail was beautiful and our timing was perfect. The colors were glorious and the day we left snow was coming.
FALL FOOD
We had a fun Halloween with our kids and grandkids and then, boom! November hit with cold weather. While we haven’t really had much snow, the temps have been much cooler, like, as in the high this week will be 40-45 degrees.
Brrr… So naturally I have been thinking about some soup recipes. And I’m all about easy, so the following recipe is yummy, quick, and only has five ingredients. And, you can keep the ingredients on hand frozen or in the pantry.

How easy is that!?
And since we’re talking about food… this past week we hosted a gathering for 20 people in our home. Kelly inspired me with her recent Monday Must Haves post that featured charcuterie boards. So I gathered meats, cheeses, crackers, nuts, and a few other items and slapped it all on a few different boards and trays. The tray below has been a great one for large dinners or parties.
I went with my daughter, Lindsey, to a local woodworking shop that Kelly featured last week, Maker’s Bench. We had so much fun learning to make butcher block cutting boards, and mine is in the photos below.
Kelly and I both have the little square appetizer plates from Crate and Barrel so we often share them if we’re having a crowd. The girls and I share a lot of things when we’re entertaining a crowd, it sure comes in handy!
FLEA MARKET FUN
Of course I recently had to pop into one of my favorite local flea market/antique shops, A & J Antiques. Below are some fun items I saw and something in one of the photos came home with me. Can you guess what it was?
The stack of red books now live on my living room mantle. One of these days I will show you my awkwardly long mantle.
FACE CARE
Ok, so I’ve talked about fall colors, food, and flea markets. Why not finish with another thing that starts with “f”, face care? (I really didn’t sit around thinking about using four words that start with the letter f !).
So I went to have a facial with Kelly’s great esthetician, Peggy at Bask Salon in Fort Collins. When I was there she said, “So you’re using a serum?” To which I honestly said yes. But that got me to thinking, what’s a good facial serum to use? For years I have used Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum. It is reasonably priced and has served me well.
But I found this one and really like it too. It’s Lilyana Naturals Vitamin C Serum with Hyaluronic Acid.
You guys there are about forty bazillion different face serums and creams to use! So help me out, tell me what you use in the comments section below.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you and, God willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll join you again in December!
